The Red Sox beat their arch rivals the Yankees this morning in a thrilling game at Los Lomitas. The teams entered a riveting fifth inning at 4-4. In the first four innings we had brilliant performances by many players, including Jake S who caught a high ball in the outfield, Scott and Kyle who hit several wonderfully big hits, Luca who casually switched from left to right while batting and hit hard and Connor who ran around the base as fast as I've ever seen. The Yankees took the lead with 5-4, only to be left behind in the dust by the Red Sox in the bottom of the 5th inning: Red Sox scored an incredible four runs, thanks to Toby, amongst others. But a determined Yankees hit back with a splendid performance in the sixth (and last) inning, despite great field work by Callum, Christian, Clayton and Jack, and a wonderful attempt to catch a fast ball by Jake R. Entering the bottom of the sixth it was up to the Red Sox to come back from 8-9. And did they ever! Elizabeth showed solid form and Kyle hit the winning ball. 10-9 to the Red Sox.
Elizabeth, the queen of the baseball field today, deservedly won the game ball.
GAME 1, MARCH 29: RED SOX 15 - ANGELS 8
Wow, what an opening game against the Angels. The Red Sox overwhelmed the Angels with an incredible 15-8. The highlight of the game was a miraculous catch by Jack that left everyone in awe. Game ball for Jack, and a great overall game for everybody.
