Our fear of nuclear energy

Paul Kruger, professor emeritus at Stanford, believes that we need to get over our fear of nuclear energy. With nuclear energy, Paul says, we can relatively quickly move away from fossil fuel based transport to electric or hydrogen transport. In fact, Paul is a big proponent of hydrogen as is evident in his book "Alternative Energy Resources: The Quest for Sustainable Energy", but that will no doubt be the topic of a future podcast.

In this interview, my student Luke Leaver talks to Paul about the reluctance in the US to use nuclear energy, how to overcome these fears and why he sees nuclear energy as a big part of the solution.

This podcast was created for a term project in the course on renewable energy that I teach with my colleague Tony Kovscek at Stanford in the spring.
